Memorial services have been set for a Gwinnett father killed last week when his bicycle collided with a car.

Shay Cameron Swords, 38, died Friday night while riding his bicycle near the Lawrenceville intersection of Maltbie Street and McConnell Drive. Police believe he collided with a Nissan, but have said they do not expect charges to be filed against its driver.

Few other details about the crash have been released.

According to his obituary, Swords was a Brookwood High School graduate who "adored his family, was a fiercely loyal friend to many and an extraordinarily gifted musician." He is survived by his son, parents, sister and brother.

Swords' celebration of life service will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the ballroom of the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse, 185 Crogan St. in Lawrenceville.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CHRIS Kids (1017 Fayetteville Road, Suite B, Atlanta, Ga. 30316) or the Gwinnett Room (191 Plainview Drive, Lawrenceville, Ga. 30046).
