Serial bank robbery suspect arrested in DeKalb

A Hampton man has been arrested for allegedly robbing three DeKalb County banks in recent weeks.

Ceaser Merckson, 38, was booked into the DeKalb County Jail on Friday, charged with three counts of robbery. According to jail records, Merckson is being held on $25,000 bond on each count.

Merckson is suspected of robbing Wells Fargo Bank and Bank of America branches on Columbia Drive in late May and the SunTrust Bank on Rockbridge Road last week, according to AM750 and now 95.5 FM News/Talk WSB.

The station reported that Merckson also allegedly stole an ambulance to make his getaway following one of the heists.
