A 24-year-old Atlanta man accused of robbing 24 dollar stores was sentenced to 32 years in prison Monday on firearms charges.
Artavius Brown committed numerous armed robberies during a crime spree that spanned from February to June 2013, officials said.
“Brown terrorized our community and put the lives of many innocent people at risk,” U.S. Attorney Sally Quillian Yates said in the news release.
According to the information presented in court, Brown robbed one bank and 24 Family Dollar and Dollar General stores across four counties — Fulton, DeKalb, Gwinnett and Henry. Some of the robberies occurred on the same day.
Brown was convicted in March after pleading guilty to two counts of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence, including a PNC Bank robbery on June 21, 2013 in Tucker, authorities said.
His prison sentence will be followed by five years of supervised release. He also must pay restitution of $4,509.35.
