State Sen, Brandon Beach, R-Alpharetta has been tapped to head the Senate’s Preservation of the HOPE scholarship program study committee.

The committee was created during the 2015 legislative session, in response to a Senate resolution seeking to use casino and pari-mutual gambling tax revenue as a way to supplement revenue for the scholarship and for Georgia pre-K programs. The committee will also look at social and economic impacts of those possible new-to-Georgia forms of gambling and will report findings by December 1 of 2015.

Beach was picked to head the seven-member group by Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle.
