Security cameras at Marietta City Schools will be more advanced during this school year.

The Marietta Board of Education has agreed to pay $78,489 from E-SPLOST IV funds to NetPlanner Systems, Inc. to provide and install upgrades on the district security camera servers.

Marietta City Schools (MCS) will upgrade from the current Avigilon v.5 (Standard) server to Avigilon v.6 (Enterprise) to operate the security camera system for the school district.

This upgrade will provide advanced data analytics, improved search capabilities, increased secured access and expanded surveillance infrastructure, MCS Superintendent Grant Rivera told the board.

MCS plans to request reimbursement from the Georgia Department of Education Fiscal Year 2019 Safety and Security Appropriation fund for this upgrade, he added.
