The new school year is coinciding with new school improvements in Fayette County. Assistant Superintendent Mike Sanders announced at the Board of Education work session on Aug. 7 that renovations at Rising Starr Middle School are complete, and the installation of new turf fields at Starr’s Mill and Fayette County high schools is underway.

Initial work has also begun on the new auditorium at Fayette County High; construction will soon begin on the multi-purpose room at Whitewater High, with completion expected in October. More than half of about 25 smaller projects at other schools have also been completed.
