Incumbent Henry County Board of Education member Donna McBride was defeated by Sophe Cook Pope in the July 24 runoff election for the District 4 school board seat.

Pope captured 60.5 percent of the vote in the nonpartisan race.

David Brown won his race for a Henry County State Court judgeship with 61.6 percent of the vote over Chaundra Lewis in their runoff.

The other local race decided in the runoff was for State House District 111, all of which lies in Henry County, as El-Mahdi Holly defeated Tarji Leonard Dunn with 58.8 percent of the vote.
