Some parents of South Cobb High seniors were unable to attend Saturday's graduation at Roswell Street Baptist Church in Marietta because the sanctuary was filled to capacity.

The culprit: counterfeit tickets.

With up to 80 people using fake tickets to enter, the sanctuary filled up and school officials were forced to turn people away.

Principal Grant Rivera said he didn't find out about the scam until after the ceremony. The graduating class numbered over 450.

"We're working with families to get them copies of the graduation ceremony," he said. "Admittedly, it won't make up for not being there."

Rivera said he did not know exactly how many fake tickets were printed.

"We're still reviewing this to see exactly what happened," he said.
