Unfortunately, there’s reason to be a little leery of your friendly utility worker these days in Cobb County.

Kennesaw police warned on Facebook that there's a man and woman posing as Georgia Power workers stealing from homes and vehicles. And they're targeting elderly residents.

Here’s how it works: The pair claim they need to install a new power pole. Then the woman distracts as the man steals jewelry and other items before pawning them off.

Investigators believe they are driving in a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado with a North Carolina license plate reading “SONNY1.”If the couple just shows up and attempts to speak with you claiming they are from Georgia Power please contact the Cobb detective assigned to the case at 770-499-4573.
