A Savannah television anchor was killed in a car crash early Sunday morning.

Don Logana was killed about 4 a.m. on the South Carolina side of the Talmadge Bridge, after a blue pick-up truck and a red four-door vehicle were involved in a head-on crash, the Savannah Morning News reported.

In addition the SCMP, Jasper County and South Carolina state patrol also responded to the scene.

"We lost one of our very own, Don Logana," the station posted. "Please keep us and the Logana family in your thoughts and prayers as we try to grasp this devastating news."

Ciara Frisbie, a Georgia State University student who spoke on a panel with Logana at the inaugural Larry Peterson awards ceremony in 2015, released a statement to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

“I’m in complete and utter shock and deeply saddened by the news of Don’s passing. Growing up in the ‘low country’ and seeing him on WTOC every day, it was an amazing experience for me to finally meet and speak on a panel with him last year at the first Larry Peterson awards. His contributions to the journalism field and his community will never be forgotten. My heart goes out to his family and the WTOC news station during this time.”
