One of the largest Christmas parade in North Georgia – with costumed cosplayers portraying superhero and fantasy characters joining more traditional marching bands, dancers and Santa Claus – the 6th annual March of the Toys Parade for Toys for Tots steps off at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, in Ball Ground.

“Last year’s estimate was that 5,000 people came out for the parade,” said Tim Cavender, one of the event’s coordinators. “I do encourage attendees to get to the event a little early.”

Attendees are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots campaign, according to the parade website. Collection boxes will be at City Park and along the parade route on Main Street. A vendor area with food and other items for sale will be set up on Old Dawsonville Road next to City Park.

After the parade, cosplayers and Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at City Park so children can have free photos taken with them. Information: https://bit.ly/2SdRqgL
