The Sandy Springs City Council this week appointed 11 people to a zoning advisory committee which will provide input as the city revamps its zoning ordinance.

City officials say the group will consist of community members at large, developers and attorneys specializing in land use issues. They’ll serve as a sounding board and resource for the city planning team, providing a different perspective on code issues as they’re developed.

The city said that once the comprehensive land use plan and zoning ordinance package is done, it’ll get a public airing including presentations to the Planning commission before final approval by the city council. Officials have said the comprehensive plan is designed to chart the city’s growth a decade into the future.
