Sandy Springs celebrated Arbor Day last Friday morning with a tree planting ceremony at the corner of Sandy Springs Circle and Cliftwood Drive.

To commemorate the occasion, council member Karen Meinzen McEnerny read a proclamation and city officials planted eight White Oaks. Also in attendance at the event were Trees Sandy Springs President Nina Cramer, Community Development Director Blake Dettwiler and Arborist Sandra DeWitt.

Sandy Springs will provide the care for the trees for the first few years.
