A contract to install a pedestrian bridge over Nancy Creek on Windsor Parkway near Northland Drive has been approved by the Sandy Springs City Council.

Ed Castro Landscape was awarded the $384.248.99 contract to perform site grading, engineer and construct the bridge foundation, install the bridge, construct sidewalks, install curbs and gutters, and provide erosion control, according to city documents.

The project is expected to take six months to complete.

Castro had submitted to second-lowest bid for the work, but the lowest bid ($371,105) was disqualified because it was not from a Georgia Department of Transportation Prequalified Prime Contractor, as required by the invitation to bid, according to the city.
