The city of Sandy Springs has launched an online permit and inspection management system, which city officials said will enable builders to request inspections, track their status, and view both permit fees and approved permits — all online.

Staffers said the new system should streamline the permit process and make it easier for builders to do business in Sandy Springs. It holds benefits for the general public as well, allowing residents to check the status of permits, research permit history and check the status of open code enforcement cases.

The system is expected to enable contractors and developers to manage multiple permits.
