Sandy Springs to host inaugural Veterans Day ceremony

Sandy Springs will pay tribute to its veterans in a ceremony on Thursday1 in Overlook Park.

Retired Army Lt. Gen. R. Steven Whitcomb will give the keynote address during the event, the city’s first. The ceremony includes a salute to all local veterans and music from a military band.

A parking shuttle will run between North Springs United Methodist Church, at Roswell and Morgan Falls road, starting at noon.

The ceremony begins at 2 p.m. the park, which is at the end of Morgan Falls Road on the Chattahoochee River. There will be no public parking at the park.
