The Sandy Springs City Council has awarded a $209,300 contract for Phase II renovations to the Hammond Park Recreation Center.

K-Team Engineering & Construction submitted the lowest of six bids for the project, according to a staff report to the council.

Plans calls for renovations to the boys and girls restrooms; improved changing areas and provision of storage in the girls’ room; replacing floors and plumbing fixtures; improving lighting, electrical, air and exhaust ductwork; and adding space for concessions machines.

Hammond Park, at 705 Hammond Drive, is a 13.7-acre property that's home to the Hammond Park Gymnastics Center and also a community building, lighted tennis courts, outdoor basketball courts and two picnic pavilions, according to a city website: https://bit.ly/2me6jES
