Sandy Springs will take extra measures to keep one of its busiest intersections clear by painting a box around the intersection of Riverside Drive and Riverside Parkway. Motorists will be warned to stay outside the box as traffic slows.

"Keeping that box open should provide vehicles on Riverside Parkway an opportunity to turn onto Riverside Drive and enter the traffic flow,” said Sandy Springs City Manager John McDonough.

Sandy Springs Police officers will monitor the area this weekend and provide reminders as commuters adjust to the new system.
