Ruling pending in charter school dispute

The Georgia Supreme Court plans to release a decision Monday on a funding dispute between charter schools at Atlanta’s public school system.

Atlanta Public Schools argued to the high court in June that charter schools should be required to contribute to an old pension burden that exceeds $550 million.

But charter schools told justices their funding is set by state law, and they shouldn’t have to pay for a pension system they have nothing to do with.
