Although the project is still a way from being done, construction on the Ga. 372 (Birmingham Highway) roundabout at Providence and New Providence roads in Milton took a big step Wednesday.

At 10 a.m., crews shifted project traffic into its new, permanent alignment. The Georgia Department of Transportation said that new signage and striping is in place to help motorists through the transition period

The roughly $2 million project was awarded to Bartow Paving Company in 2013, and has fallen behind its original November projected completion date. City officials and residents alike have expressed frustration with the delay.
