Roswell city officials have put out an alert that someone has "spoofed" a city telephone number to make political robocalls to ask residents about voting.

Caller ID will show the incoming call as from a city of Roswell number, 770-641-3700. “This phone number is not in use by the city, and the spammers do not have access to the city’s phone system,” officials said.

Roswell’s Information Technology division worked with its telecommunications provider and determined there was nothing the city could do to address the situation from its end.

"However, anyone who notices an incoming call from the number above should not answer the call and should report it via the Federal Communications Commission's site," the city said. To report the call: https://bit.ly/338DsCA
