The Roswell City Council has moved to take in-house the management of the “Alive in Roswell” community festival and “Music on the Hill” outdoor concert series.

“Atlanta Plays It Forward will no longer be the manager” of the events, according to a staff agenda report to the council. “Since the city will now be responsible for managing both events, which includes the collection of sponsorship revenues and payment to vendors, it is recommended establishing a Special Events Fund to account for revenues and expenses.”

The council approved a Fiscal Year 2019 budget amendment establishing event revenues of $139,500 and expenses of $47,276 for April to June.

Alive in Roswell is a free monthly festival hosted by the city the third Thursday of the month, April through October, at four venues: Historic Canton Street, Historic Roswell Square, the Interactive Zone at City Hall, and East Alley. Music on the Hill is a free concert series held the second Friday of the month, April through October, on the City Hall lawn.
