Roswell and Sandy Springs officials have selected local engineering firm Heath and Lineback to make improvements to bicycle and pedestrian facilities to the bridge over the Chattahoochee River, pending the approval of their respective city councils.

The project will include pedestrian-scale lighting and other amenities to the SR 9 bridge, which connects Roswell and Sandy Springs.

The improvements will be funded with a federal earmark and a 20 percent local match, which will be shared by Roswell and Sandy Springs. Roswell is the official sponsor of the project and will handle the day-to-day management of the improvements.

Heath & Lineback Engineers, Inc., is based in Marietta.
