Roswell Road still closed
A major Sandy Springs road remains closed, but it's unclear why.
As of 5 p.m. Sunday, Sandy Springs police officers still had the road blocked off, said Sandy Springs Police Lt., Steve Rose.
The reason? They were waiting for Georgia Power technicians to arrive.
However, Georgia Power spokesman John Kraft said they had given the all clear Sunday morning.
"We cleared our part. We got everything cleared this morning," said Kraft. "All customers in the area have had their power restored since about 11 a.m."
Roswell Road is blocked in both directions near Morgan Falls Road. The road was closed after an overnight wreck in which a utility pole was knocked down left power lines across the road.
Kraft said the problem is a short in a traffic signal, which is a city issue not Georgia Power's.
There were no immediate details as to when the street would be re-opened, Rose said.
The state Department of Transportation predicted it would be early afternoon before the road reopened.
No injuries have been reported.
