Roswell’s police department will be getting a vigorous once-over. Officials with the Virginia-based Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies will start a look-see at departmental policies and procedures, management, operations and support services on April 6. The police department is hoping to maintain the CALEA accreditation it first won in 1995.

Part of the process is a chance for the public to sound off on the police department at 5 p.m. April 7 at Roswell City Court at city hall, 38 Hill St. Residents unable to make the meeting can also talk to the re-accreditation team by phone from 2 to 4 p.m. the same day at 770-640-4137.

Officials said if the department is re-accredited, it will be for a three-year stretch.
