Two soccer fields at Grimes Bridge Park in Roswell will get new field lights under an agreement between the city and the Roswell Soccer Club.
The soccer club will finance the equipment and installation of lights at the park, 830 Grimes Bridge Road, according to the agreement approved by the City Council. The lights will become the city’s property.
Roswell, in turn, will be responsible for the costs of zoning, land use and building permits; approving or disapproving the project design and a lighting vendor and contract; providing a project manager to oversee the equipment and installation, and future electric bills, maintenance and repairs.
The agreement says it follows two public meetings to gather community feedback, and that the project meets goals of the parks strategic master plan, “including the addition of complimentary training spaces and facilities for athletics and the addition of programming for teens.”
