The Roswell City Council has authorized a new contract with SAFEbuilt Georgia for building code administration and code enforcement services for the city.

SAFEbuilt has worked for Roswell since 2012, and its present contract expires July 1. The initial contract price will be $541,803 plus 60 percent of the fees associated with building code administration, compared with 70 percent under the prior contact.

The contract will run for five years and will automatically renew annually unless terminated by either party, according to a city spokeswoman.

SAFEbuilt submitted one of four proposals for the work, and a city evaluation committee unanimously recommended the company for the job, according to a staff report.
