The Roswell City Council has approved $180,000 in fiscal 2019 and 2020 spending out of the city’s tree bank fund, which contains donations made in lieu of planting replacement trees to reach minimum on-site tree density.

The FY 2019 spending list details $80,000 for five tree-planting projects; $30,000 for the tree planting fund, for new planting opportunities that may come along during the year; and $20,000 for general tree and landscape maintenance, such as pruning and removal.

The five FY 2019 projects are the East Roswell Park Screening (to help sceen a communications tower); East Roswell Park Arts Center Landscape; City Hall Additional Funds for Tree Replacement and Landscape Improvements; Grimes Bridge Park and Groveway Community Park Improvements (to begin after a new road connecting the two parks is finished); and the Roswell Area Park Front Entrance (north side landscape renovations; the south side has been completed).

The FY 2019 list allocates $30,000 and $20,000, respectively, for new plantings and general maintenance.
