The Roswell City Council has approved a $102,975 task order to have its on-call engineering consultant draw up plans for a new multi-use trail along Hardscrabble Road.

KCI Technologies Inc is tasked with designing a trail 3,000 feet long on the north side of Hardscrabble between King Road and Whittingham Place.

“As part of the design process, KCI will evaluate putting the multi-use trail on the south side of Hardscrabble Road in order to reduce construction costs,” staff said in an agenda report to the council. The cost to build the trail is estimated at $550,000.

Last July, Roswell celebrated the completion of the nearby Hardscrabble Green Loop Complete Street project. The $5.8 million project included a multi-use path along its namesake street connecting Roswell High School, at King Road, and Sweet Apple Elementary School, at Etris Road.
