Roswell has put out information advising how Fulton County homeowners can be sure they qualify for the “floating” homestead exemption that caps the annually adjusted, assessed value of their homes at 3 percent starting in 2019.

The exemption, approved by Fulton voters last November, will automatically be applied to Roswell residences that have a Basic Homestead Exemption from the county. The basic exemption is indicated on an owner's "Annual Notice of Assessment," available at https://fultonassessor.org/

Otherwise, a homeowner must file by April 1 to receive the Basic Homestead Exemption. Information: http://fultonassessor.org/exemptions

Other exemptions are available to seniors and people with full medical or veterans' disabilities and their surviving spouses through Fulton County and the city of Roswell. Information: https://fultonassessor.org/ A Guide to Homestead Exemptions can be downloaded at: https://bit.ly/2TIMwsU

Homestead exemption information also can be found on Roswell's Property Tax page (scroll down): https://bit.ly/2FogbV4
