Roswell city officials have installed new medical gear designed to save lives if a critical incident breaks out at city hall.

The iACT Responder Bag contains equipment to control major bleeding and breathing problems. City employees can be trained so that it takes them less than 30 minutes to use it, said police officials.

Roswell is among the first organizations in the nation to install the locally-developed kit, which can be mounted like an automated external defibrillator. The bags have ben installed in a number of locations throughout the city building.

The bags can be used to help victims in the interval between when a critical threat’s been eliminated and first responders can locate and extricate the wounded.
