The Roswell Public Works/Environmental Department will hold a household hazardous waste collection where residents can turn in pesticides, herbicides, fluorescent bulbs, propane gas cylinders and other difficult-to-get-rid-of items.

The collection is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Roswell Solid Waste Facility (not the Recycling Center), 1810 Hembree Road. It is for Roswell residents only; no commercial entities can participate, nor can anything be dropped off before the event.

Other accepted items include paint thinner and turpentine, fertilizer, undiluted pool chemicals, household cleaners, mercury thermometers and thermostats, non-rechargeable household batteries, aerosols including aerosol paint, automotive brake fluid, used motor oil filters and gasoline.

No latex or oil-based paints will be accepted.
