The Roswell City Council has approved a $61,500 design contract for the expansion of the Physical Activity Center for the Recreation, Parks, Historic & Cultural Affairs Department.

Millard Inc. Architects will handle design and engineering and construction estimates for the expansion to accommodate the boy’s and girls’ gymnastics program. A one-story addition of about 4,500 square feet is proposed for the center, 10495 Woodstock Road.

“Once the design is completed, the department will fund the expansion project through a combination of donations and fund balance in the 555 Recreation Participation Fund,” staff said in a report to the council.

Millard, the original architect of record for the center, submitted the sole response to the city’s solicitation for services. Staff reviewed the submission, found it responsive and responsible, and recommended Millard for the job.
