Roswell to cut ribbon on new bridge
By Ralph Ellis
Dec 14, 2009Roswell will hold a ribbon cutting at 1 p.m. Wednesday for the bridge replacement project on Grimes Bridge Road.
The new bridge deck is 13 feet higher than the old bridge to reduce problems caused by flooding. The new intersection has a traffic signal system with energy-saving lights, pedestrian signals and video cameras.
The new sidewalks on the bridge connect Grimes Bridge Park and the Adult Recreation Center with the linear park along Big Creek and the Vickery Creek unit of the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area.
Parking for the ceremony will be available at the Roswell Adult Recreation Center. All approaches to the bridge will be closed for two hours starting at noon. For information, please call 770-594-6420.
