A driveway connecting Groveway Community Park and the adjacent Adult Recreation Center has been completed in Roswell, providing what city officials said is safer route between the two recreational facilities.

The driveway, about 20 feet wide and 400 feet long, leads from Dobbs Drive to the Adult Recreation Center and its parking lot at 830 Grimes Bridge Road. Previously, the only way to go from one to another was an indirect route over Oxbo Road.

The connector cost about $232,000 and took a year to complete; it was constructed by the Roswell Department of Transportation with the help of the Recreation and Parks Department, according to a city announcement on Facebook.

"This new connector provides a safer and alternate route to access critical city facilities and parks, as Dobbs Drive is steep and during adverse weather conditions can become a riskier way to access the city facilities and parks," the city said. Information: https://bit.ly/3cPgchN
