Roswell Art Center gets new name
The Art Center on Fouts Road has been renamed the Arts Center at East Roswell Park. CITY OF ROSWELL.
The Roswell City Council has approved renaming the Art Center on Fouts Road, the Art Center at East Roswell Park.
The Roswell Recreation Commission surveyed residents and chose the name that got the highest response in public votes, 48.8 percent, officials said. The present, Art Center on Fouts name got only 12.5 percent, and all other names, 38.7 percent.
Most respondents said they chose the name that acknowledged a prominent or unique natural or geographical feature in the surrounding area.
The Art Center, at 9100 Fouts Road, is next to East Roswell Park and contains gallery space, a culinary kitchen, classrooms, a clay studio and outside space. It hosts art classes and special events. Information: http://bit.ly/2sxFU7Q
