Officials with the city of Roswell and the Roswell Recreation Commission plan to cut the ribbon on the state-of-the-art Adult Aquatics Center at 1:15 p.m. May 11. The new center is adjacent to the city’s Adult Recreation Center at 830 Grimes Bridge Road.

The 12,000 square-foot facility has a five-lane warm water therapeutic swimming pool, zero-depth entry, therapeutic whirlpool and shower facilities. City officials said the center is designed to bring new therapy and recreational opportunities to the 50-plus and special needs populations.

Officials said the new center cost about $4 million, with $2.5 million of that coming from a voter-approved bond referendum. The remainder of the money paid for such enhancements as a whirlpool and specialized equipment and was raised through business and community sponsorships.
