The Roswell Police Department invites residents to get an in-depth look at law enforcement in the Winter 2020 session of the Citizens Police Academy.

The free program meets from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays for seven weeks, beginning Feb. 18, at the Roswell Police Department, 39 Hill St.

Through lectures, demonstrations and hands-on exercises, students will learn about the K9 unit, SWAT team, traffic enforcement, 911 communications and how criminal cases are investigated, among other topics. Those who complete the courses will take part in a graduation ceremony and reception Tuesday, March 31.

Applicants must be at least 21 years old, pass a background check and be a Roswell resident or business owner. Applications are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the police department, or online at: https://bit.ly/2GNygui
