Roof systems will be replaced at several Cobb parks.

This decision was made recently by the Cobb County Board of Commissioners.

Low bidder SHC Roofing will replace roofs at 21 park structures in 10 parks, according to PARKS Director Jimmy Gisi.

The cost is $386,930.

Funding will come from the 2016 PARKS Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) program.

“Replacement of these roofs - with modern standing-seam metal roof systems - will greatly extend the life of these structures,” Gisi said.

Park locations under this contract are Kennworth Park (1 structure), Lost Mountain Park (6 structures), Oregon Park (2 structures), Wild Horse Creek Park (2 structures), Fair Oaks Park (3 structures), East Cobb Park (1 structure), Rhyne Park (3 structures), Harrison Park (1 structure), Sandy Plains Park (1 structure) and Thompson Park (1 structure).
