Most westbound lanes of I-20 just east of downtown were closed Wednesday afternoon while authorities investigated a wreck involving an overturned pickup truck.

The two-vehicle crash happened just after 11:30 a.m. on I-20 westbound before Moreland Avenue.

An Atlanta fire spokesman told the AJC that both drivers were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.

Atlanta police dispatchers received a call at 11:32 about a blue vehicle with a woman inside broken down in one of the travel lanes. Three minutes later, dispatchers got calls about the wreck, which involved the pickup truck and a blue Buick.

Four westbound lanes were shut down, with only the right lane still open. The state Department of Transportation said at 12:30 p.m. that it would likely be another hour before the lanes reopened.
