A Cobb County restaurant and hookah lounge has failed its food service inspection for the second time in a 13-month period.
AR Lounge at 585 Franklin Gateway Suite 170 in Marietta scored a 59, or U, on its Aug. 15 inspection. Anything below a 70 is considered failing. AR Lounge scored a 64 on a food service inspection held July 19, 2018. The restaurant scored a 96, or A, on a July 27, 2018, follow-up inspection.
According to the report, the facility had rodent droppings behind the reach-in cooler and unidentified food stored inside the cooler and freezer. Soups inside the cooler were also measured at a temperature above 41 degrees Fahrenheit and mixed spices containers were stored without labels.

The restaurant was also cited for having broken microwaves throughout the building, spice racks lined with greasy parchment paper, old food bits on the floor and inside the fryer and a dimly-lit kitchen area.
Other violations include:
• The person in charge did not have the necessary training for good retail establishment practices and could not provide signed documentation of the employee health policy;
•The restaurant did not have a certified food service manager certificate posted on site; and,
•The person in charge could not provide a written plan to clean up vomit or fecal manner.
The inspector also said the kitchen “needs to be deep cleaned for buildup” and arranged for “safe and better practices.” A follow-up inspection was scheduled to be held, but no date was provided.
