Lane closures related to a DeKalb County water main replacement is moving farther up Rockbridge Road on Monday.

The 20-month project on Rockbridge Road is set to be done in four phases. It moves into the second phase Monday, which means the road will be down to one lane from Stone Mountain-Lithonia Road and South Hairston Road, the county said.

The closures will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

The project is replacing nearly seven miles of water main pipes on Rockbridge Road between South Deshon Road and Memorial Drive.

“Motorists and MARTA passengers that use Rockbridge Road are urged to plan for extra commuting time,” the county has said.
