The city of Milton has again partnered with the Vox Artium Foundation to offer “Rock for Rescues,” a series of events culminating in a one-day music festival April 27, 2019, to benefit local animal welfare organizations.

“We’re building on last year’s success and making a few tweaks such as shifting the festival start and end times in response to community feedback,” said Courtney Spriggs, community outreach and engagement manager for Milton.

The 2018 festival drew more than 4,000 attendees. Greater attendance is expected in 2019 with the shift of festival hours to 1 to 10 p.m., Spriggs said.

The effort raises funds for the AWARE Wildlife Center, Canine Cellmates, Furkids, Georgia House Rabbits Society, and the Milton-based Special Equestrians of Georgia.

In the months leading up to the festival, Rock for Rescues and participating businesses will host micro-fundraisers in Milton and around metro Atlanta to support the nonprofits. Net proceeds will be split equally between the benefiting charities.
