Ridge Road in the unincorporated Sixes area of Cherokee County will be closed to through traffic for 12 days this month as part of the Ridge-Bells Ferry Road intersection realignment project, the Cherokee Roadway Capital Program announced.

Ridge will be closed from Monday, Aug. 13, through Friday, Aug. 24, between Bells Ferry on the west and Sixes Road on the east, officials said. A posted detour will direct motorists to Bells Ferry and Sixes roads.

Sixes Elementary School, at 20 Ridge Road, will be accessible from Sixes Road. Information: the Roadway Capital Program, 678-493-6077.
