Starbucks

2826 N. Druid Hills Road

Date: 9/21/15

Score: 65

A Starbucks in Atlanta failed a routine health inspection this week after an official found live roaches underneath the espresso machine.

The coffee store on North Druid Hills Road received a score of 65 and a failing U grade, according to an inspection report by the Georgia Department of Public Health.

The Starbucks location was investigated following a complaint that a customer found a roach floating in their cup.

The official also noted unsanitized plates, an opened bag of coffee beans on the floor and an employee with no gloves on handling both trash and food.

If the location does not improve its grade within 10 days, it will be requested to voluntarily close until all violations are corrected, according to the DeKalb Division of Environmental Health.

An employee at the Starbucks location declined to comment on the inspection report, and directed all inquiries to the corporate office. A Starbucks spokesperson said the company intends to conduct a thorough inspection and in-depth cleaning of the store.
