The PTA at River Eves Elementary School in Roswell will host an informative and fun ice cream social for new students and rising kindergarten students. Interested parents and students will gather at the lower playground from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 8. Over ice cream and popsicles, the event gives students and their families to meet other students, school administrators, teachers and PTA leaders. River Eves merchandise will be available, so checkbooks may be needed. There also will be opportunities to sign up for the PTA and the school's Calling All Dads program. "This is a fun activity that also helps our students transition to a new school."
