The Henry County Board of Education voted at its Feb. 11 regular meeting to convey a right-of-way easement to Snapping Shoals EMC at the site of the performing arts center now under construction adjacent to Fairview Elementary School.

The easement will allow for the placement of power lines, poles, wires, transformers, service pedestals, and other necessary apparatus by Snapping Shoals EMC for the new facility, according to district officials.

A separate report reviewed at the board meeting indicated that construction on the new performing arts center will be completed by December and open during the 2019-2020 school year.
