A new all-suite hotel is coming to southern Peachtree City, now that the City Council has agreed to rezone 5.8 acres behind the Pit Stop off TDK Boulevard.

The council voted 3-1-0 (with Phil Prebor absent) on May 2 to change the Exchange Place/Widget Drive property, which also borders a pond, from general industrial to limited-use commercial. The applicant, W. Michael Hyde, wants to build a 107-room, extended-stay Hilton Home2 hotel on the site. An additional outparcel is included in the rezoning, but although the LUC designation allows for residential development, the council stipulated as a condition of the approval that no such use would be permitted.

The property owner will also have to provide access to the city’s multi-use path system if it is extended from Crosstown Drive to the opposite side of Ga. Hwy. 74 South.
