The McDonough City Council voted at its Sept. 16 regular meeting to approve a rezoning for approximately five acres located at 1033B Hwy. 155 North, across from St. James Catholic Church and the Brush Arbor subdivision.

The request was for a change from OI (office-institutional) to R-100 (single-family residential) for two tracts of 1.77 and 3.19 acres. The vote on the issue was postponed in August due to a revised scope of work, according to a city staff report. No one aside from the applicant spoke for or against the request at the public hearing convened regarding the item.

No council member voted in opposition.
