The shooting at Price Middle School in southwest Atlanta on Thursday put several schools on lockdown and left family and friends searching for information.

Price Middle School posted an urgent message about the shooting on its website.

The 14-year-old student, who was shot the head, was “alert, conscious and breathing” said transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, police said. The suspect, a fellow student, was taken into custody. All of the other students are safe.
